Set Screw M, Steel
Metric steel set screws are used to secure, lock and position shafts, hubs, gears, pulleys and other machine components without the use of a nut. The range includes designs with hex socket, slotted drive or square head, depending on the applicable standard and intended application.
The choice of point style determines how the set screw engages with the mating component. Flat point screws according to ISO 4026 / DIN 913 are used where minimal surface marking is required. Cone point screws according to ISO 4027 / DIN 914 provide high holding power by penetrating the mating surface. Dog point screws according to ISO 4028 / DIN 915 are intended for accurate positioning in pre-drilled holes or slots, while cup point screws according to ISO 4029 / DIN 916 concentrate the clamping force onto a smaller contact area to provide a secure grip in general machinery applications.
This category includes metric steel set screws in various property classes and surface finishes for machinery, power transmission systems, maintenance and industrial applications.
